Sharpened words that punctured
Her skin and simmered beneath
Her tissues, sautéing her ego
Burning her confidence and
Melting through the gristle
Subliminally a physical change is
Requested by his sudden actions,
Her only belief is his happiness
So she strives to fulfill his
satisfaction
She altered her look and sprinkled
Some spice on her walk, a shift
That robbed her of her identity
Even a switch in how she talked
Committed to the success of
An unhealthy relationship,
She did what ever it took
To make sure she was one
He'd refuse to quit
A heart of such size deserved

But she tripped and stumbled
